panic tv
So, I like Panic TV. But I really, really liked it when at first I thought it was just a continous video art project, funded with some advertising money.
Then I went to their site and found out that they’re NOT just trying to make a neat art project — they are “a fast growing entertainment network of flat screen TVs strategically placed in the most popular bars”. This bar / night life thing is actually what the company is about. Ugh!
At a time when we have been talking about company vision here quite a bit, this has been a reminder to me that such things are important. A company that is primarily trying to make a cool video art project for people to enjoy is different from a company primarily trying to squeeze advertising dollars out of Budwiser and Miller Lite, even if the result is similar.
